Both collectively, through the Victoria Real Estate Board, and as individuals, Victoria-area REALTORS® have a longstanding history of community involvement.
REALTORS® contribute in many ways to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens of the Greater Victoria area. This involvement includes grants to worthwhile organizations through the Victoria Real Estate Board's Community Donations Program along with participation in and support for community initiatives that meet the Board's commitment to our Quality of Life principles; lobbying government at the municipal, provincial and federal levels on initiatives to improve housing opportunities and choice for everyone; and individual financial and volunteer support of numerous community groups and organizations.
REALTORS® not only provide a full range of real estate services to people who want to buy, sell or lease property, as local residents they are actively involved in the communities they serve and participate with other groups and organizations in efforts to make Victoria a better place to live for everyone.
VREB & CREA Commit to Reward Fund for Lindsay Buziak
The VREB and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) have each made a commitment of $25,000 (for a total of $50,000) to the reward fund offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of REALTOR®, Lindsay Buziak on February 2, 2008.
The Board and CREA are pleased to participate in this manner in the hope that it will lead to new information coming to light that will assist the police with their investigation.
Lindsay’s family has announced a total reward fund of $100,000 in the unsolved case that includes the commitment from the VREB and CREA.
